- ConAntonakos 11y agoWhat exactly is it?
- bobajeff 11y agoThe rendering engine in MS Edge. (Like Gecko, Blink, WebCore (Webkit), Trident.) A fork of Trident stripped of some legacy code.
- Sanddancer 11y agoIt's their most recent browser engine.
- mwcampbell 11y agoConsidering how deeply Windows-specific EdgeHTML is likely to be, I don't think open-sourcing it would be very useful, unless someone wants to backport it to Windows 7 and 8.1. I don't speak for the Edge team, but there is a blog out that indicates it is already possible to embed EdgeHTML via the WebView control in Universal Platform apps: https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2015/08/27/creating-your-own-browser-with-html-and-javascript/ https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2015/08/27/creating-your... I know that doesn't entirely address your wish, but it's a step in the right direction. :P
- cududa 11y agoI'd be most interested in using it in an Atom Electron app :) Given VS Code's use of electron, do you know if anyone internally has given a whack at swapping webkit for edgeHTML?
