I think it is safe to say that fully 1/2 of Americans would seem almost alien to you if you were to interact with them in their natural habitat(s). It's true for me, and I was raised among them, before fleeing as soon as I was old enough to drive away. I mean no offense to anyone. But there's a lot of folks out there living a very different lifestyle than the average HN'er.
