Not everyone are privileged to live in an area with no crime and poverty. Certain measures are necessary.
Is there a particular death sentence you're referring to that bothers you or just the concept itself?
- nickpsecurity 11y agoI have pals in Singapore. They tell me that most people end up wage slaves with extra privileges for people in business with money and politicians. Chunks of people's money are taken away for questionable reasons. People pass out in mandatory physical workouts with nobody really caring. All under surveillance in a way only NSA can dream of. Yeah, it's not quite the meritocracy you're promoting. It's own citizens mostly gripe about somewhat oppressive treatment and corruption when we talk about it. That said, it does take care of its citizens a little whereas U.S. doesn't give a damn without tons of voter, regulator, or court pressure.
