> Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. Videos of pratfalls or disasters, or cute animal pictures. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic.
- seivan 11y agoThis hasn't been covered in tv compared to Clock boy which made it to the front page of HN a couple of times. The gender imbalance with more males with exciting cultural baggage will make for interesting times in Europe.

The point is, if this is a story you would expect to see on the evening news, it is unlikely to be suitable material for HN. > The gender imbalance with more males with exciting cultural baggage will make for interesting times in Europe. I'm sure it will - but it's still not a relevant submission, IMHO. Posting stories like this will eventually cause HN to become just another news aggregator without any particular focus.
- hanspeter 11y agoIt's been in the news in Germany and all over Europe. Probably has not been covered so much in US and why should it?
- geofft 11y agoThis news was on the Windows 8 built-in news app on my start menu.
