I agree. While I understand that Apple's philosophy of controlling the entirety of the user experience is somewhat sacred territory, they have already violated it several times. First ITunes on Windows which resulted in a huge windfall and introduced non-tech people to Apple's software, and then again (although this is more in the opinion realm) when they loosened restrictions on Iphone software.
If they made a modular, powerful, and somewhat affordable MacBook, I just think it would sell like hotcakes.
