Using wealth to exert political power is a problem, but we don't need to redistribute wealth to fix it. (We might want to redistribute wealth for other reasons, just not this one.) What we want is to be able to reject the influence of money on our politics. People accept money to influence politics because they can use that money to convince anyone to produce for them.
