- sleepyhead 11y agoSure, in the coworking/startup world. Not in the corporate world.
- vetinari 11y agoDepends. Last summer I strolled into one meeting, where a typical enterprise project was discussed (Windows servers, MS SQL, Sharepoint, whole enchilada) and almost fall from my legs, because all the prime contractor people were using Macs. So even corporate world is changing.
- greggyb 11y agoAnd they're probably running a Windows VM in those Macs. I see this very often with our corporate clients.
- nvivo 11y agoIt's just an educated guess. For general stats (http://gs.statcounter.com/#desktop-os-ww-monthly-201509-201511-bar http://gs.statcounter.com/#desktop-os-ww-monthly-201509-2015...), 90% of the world uses windows while 10% use macs. This reflects directly at companies and large development teams. For developer stats (http://stackoverflow.com/research/developer-survey-2015#tech-os http://stackoverflow.com/research/developer-survey-2015#tech...), 54% use windows, 21% use macs. I'm not stating that these stats are the ultimate sources of truth. But those are good references. If you were to measure the reality in most countries, I doubt those numbers would swap places. In Brazil I see lots of devs using Macs too. It's just not the majority of them.
