Well, if people would like to try a linux-kernel OS without systemd - or in general if you like to try a good OS - I will always recommend Slackware.
It... just run. It's no-frill, no-political choices always prefers semplicity.
On a desktop machine a slackware-current it's a joy.

- progman 11y agoAgree. I just set up a Slackware system for testing purposes, and I am amazed how easy it was. Slackware is one of the oldest Linux distros ever, and it was actually my first distro. After a long journey to many other distros Slackware brought back the good feeling of having control over my machine. There are still a lot of customizations to be done (enable TRIM for SSD etc.) but nevertheless I like it because I know that my machine does exactly what I want it to do. KISS is a magic principle that just works. The Unix/Linux world should never let it go.
