So you'd want to make the UX more punitive for people who in the abstract don't want DRM but then go to Netflix and want it to work anyway when the choice is put in context.
- sp332 11y agoNo? I don't want sites to download uninspectable content to my computer. Netflix isn't the only site that can use this tech if it's enabled.
- shmerl 11y agoIt's good to have an option of guaranteed no DRM, and not DRM switched off.
- cpeterso 11y agoThat would require a Firefox build without NPAPI support. A user can't differentiate between Flash or Silverlight playing a DRM video and non-DRM video, so removing NPAPI support entirely would be the only sure method. Firefox users can disable Flash or Silverlight if they don't want sites using plugin DRM. Likewise, Firefox users can remove the Adobe CDM or uncheck the "Play DRM content" setting if they don't want sites using EME DRM. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-drm https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-drm
