World-first 3D-printed hand prosthesis inspired by 1845 design
- dpflan 11y ago"As a result of international collaboration, more than 1,600 people have received a 3D-printed hand at low cost," Dr Ayres said. The article touches upon the idea of low-cost 3-D prosthetic printing, but it's pretty sparse and does not provide details on how these "1,600" people received the hands. Providing low cost or zero-cost prosthetic limbs is an amazing results of low cost, more distributed 3-D printing. Here is an example of a company providing such solutions: the non-profit Limbitless Solutions provides 3-D printed limbs at zero-cost to children. http://limbitless-solutions.org/index.php/en/ http://limbitless-solutions.org/index.php/en/
