There's an optional Http client that uses RxJS Observables - see http://plnkr.co/edit/UQJpd5dA6x45T4PPZRWW http://plnkr.co/edit/UQJpd5dA6x45T4PPZRWW for a basic demo that also uses the `async` pipe to subscribe from the view. Of course, the native fetch API works fine too.
