Usually it's to avoid accidentally promoting a product that competes with a sponsor or advertiser.
- gambiting 11y agoBut how is that only a problem in the US? I've never seen UK, German, French, Spanish or Polish TV shows censoring out brand names. Surely they could have made the same argument, yet they don't?
- neikos 11y agoThey don't censor it, but they don't want to promote it either. On broadcasts we do we try really hard not to do 'sleeper ads' where we drink from let's say a coke bottle on air.
