I agree. Browser vendors should recognize this to eat up the remaining percents. It should be easy for me to have several fully isolated Chrome instances with different desktop icons and clearly distinct windows (this is where UI color-theming shines).
- phamilton 11y agoChrome user profiles does the trick for me.
- ansgri 11y agoI'm somewhat wary of relying on profile switching. Is there a way to launch several instances with different profiles concurrently?
- Nullabillity 11y agoYup. Each window belongs to a profile.
- Bjartr 11y agoYup, it's got first class UI in Chrome. They even recently added an "open link in <profile>" item in the right click menu for each profile you have.
- fauigerzigerk 11y agoMy problem with that is that Chrome profiles don't allow me to use Cmd-Tab switching to switch between profiles. I need the profiles to act exactly like two separate applications with two different icons.
- leppr 11y agoI don't know about Chrome but it's very easy to do with Firefox, just start it with "-P", optionally followed by a profile's name to bypass the profile manager window.
