- pdkl95 11y agoIt's very common to see xz files in Gentoo as well. ls /usr/portage/distfiles/ \ | sed 's/.*[.]//g' \ | sort | uniq -c | sort -n -r \ | head -n 6 3377 gz 3051 xz 1656 bz2 295 zip 194 tgz 107 jar
- cyphax 11y agoSlackware's official packages are compressed with XZ, and it's been that way for a while, too. :)
- rlonstein 11y ago* MikTeX (windows TeX/LaTeX) system started using it circa 2007. * TexLive switched, iirc, circa 2008. * ArchLinux started circa 2010. * Linux kernel 2.6.0, iirc, circa 2011(?) * Gnome switched circa 2011. There are others but I can't remember. It's fairly common now.
