Issuers pay for fraud so I don't care about security. I don't need to have access to multiple cards. The phone is worth hundreds of dollars and if I have to futz with it at checkout there's a risk I will drop it. That risk is not worth it when I can pull a plastic card out of my pocket. If I had the watch at least I wouldn't have to fish the phone or a card out of my pocket.
