Yes, but Apple was able to screw the music industry pretty hard so the other content providers are much more wary of dealing with them. Plus iTunes was a blue ocean concept -- there was no serious competition for purchasing music online (at least not as easily as iTunes + iPod made it). To get into TV they would be going against some huge incumbents with lots of money.
