- mirimir 11y agoIt's my understanding that high-performance engines require less maintenance running on leaded gas. Or at least, using leaded gas is less expensive than using materials that don't need the lead. So maybe it's just that acrylic costs enough less than polycarbonate to make up for insurance payouts.
