I tried it as a child and it tasted like how I imagine pot pourri would taste. Really not my thing. If you want a sweet Middle Eastern food, I'd definitely suggest baklava. The worst that'll happen there is a bit of coconut. (Or... a swift and painful death, if you're allergic to nuts.)
