Huh? Most cheap, mass-produced clothing is synthetic, for reasons of cost. I get what you're saying, but "basically any mass produced clothing" includes a whole lot of clothing items that are not derived from animal products.
- emiliobumachar 11y agoI think they're talking about sweatshops, i.e. the human cost.
- 1457389 11y agoIf so they are relying on a pretty simplistic interpretation of the cost/benefit of sweatshops-style labor for developing societies. Sweatshop laborers can be argued to be investing in their own futures through one of the few avenues to a stable income they have access to. Same can't really be said for the staggering majority of livestock.
