- ultramancool 11y ago> Super easy to setup. Yes, thank god I don't have to manually contact anyone like StartSSL or even provide real contact information for this. It's just what it says - domain validation, nothing more. Interestingly, StartSSL did far more verification for their free certificates than other providers I used for paid certificates, Comodo, GlobalSign, AlphaSSL, etc.
- Stranglethorn 11y agoStartSSL's offering of free domain certs were ahead of their time and LE is taking it a step further. Having said that, there's no cost attached w/ LE in cases where revoking a cert is required (ex: security vuln). If managing a sizable portfolio of doms w/ StartSSL Class 1 Certs, missed their fee structure, you're in for a surprise.
