If Gradle's so great, then why does it use a JVM language that wasn't considered by Metabase. > The shortlist really came down to “something on the JVM” [...] However, we had a strong aversion to using Java itself, so the real short list was Scala or Clojure Gradle requires the configuration files to be written in Groovy, and is itself written in Java and lots of Groovy.
