Very good comments. What I failed to mention in my original post was that I feel that the discussions are really one-sided. My co-workers expect me to listen to and do everything they say, and don't want to hear any suggestions from me. I'm fine with other people considering my suggestions and then deciding against them. I'm not okay with coworkers who just reject my ideas because they came from the new guy. I do think you're right about tolerating different personalities, and about talking to a manager. I'll tread carefully.
