What appeals to you about the new regex system? Is it a new syntax or an expanded feature set?
- grondilu 11y agoIt's a completely new syntax, though a few elements are identical (quantifiers for instance are similar). It tries to be more readable and intuitive. The regex system is also part of grammars, which did not exist natively in Perl 5.
