Spoken like someone with either no experience in Illinois politics or simply jerks their knee around the color red.
Illinois has the worst financials of any state in the union. There's an elephant in the room: unfunded pension liabilities, thanks to corrupt public unions and an ineffective government (just like California!). "Shitting on unions"... They _are_ absolutely a problem in Illinois and something needs to be done about the power they have. Simplifying that to "shitting" is a disservice to anyone who lives in the state. We need to be having real conversations about the role and powers that public unions can have.. This kind of language is perpetuating the problems the nation continually has (e.g. the left protecting unions at all cost, the right trying to kill them all). I hope that we can start thinking critically instead of mindlessly parroting the language of the parties.
And yes, doing in the business in the state does suck because of taxes. Why do you think the state had to pay Sears to stay?
I don't like the way he got elected, but I sure as hell appreciate the fact that he'll be doing something different compared to the last decade. Let's just hope he doesn't follow the trend and do something to end up in prison.
