The period (typically just 30-90 days) for exercising the options is the most unfair of the lot. Most of my friends who left, say, after 3-years, simply were not in a place to exercise their options because of the financial implications. People leave for various reasons, and it's extremely unfair for someone to be in this position after 2-3 years. I wish more companies would adopt the 10-year exercising period.
