How one 1983 exercise nearly triggered WWIII
- voidz 11y agoIt's amazing how eager some people are to call something, anything, WWIII. But it's not doing it for me anymore, I'm beyond the shock value. Therefore I hereby suggest that we consider WWIII as the war that never materialized, and close the book altogether. Let's aim for World Peace I instead.
- jacquesm 11y agoWorld Peace I might be attainable but it will require a total overhaul of the various large bodies (NATO, UN and so on) and a re-arranging of the world stage in a way that would upset a large number of very profitable apple-carts. I consider it highly unlikely. What I would consider even more unlikely, given the nature of mankind, that it would last longer than a couple of weeks.
