Is reddit a good example of what you're complaining about?
- TeMPOraL 11y agoNo. It's mostly similar to HN IMO, it's just more inclusive. The content that is being created for Reddit, or generally for social media, would be a perfect example though. It tends to be designed for quick dopamine hits, and this is the other source of Reddit's, or Facebook's addictiveness. If you find yourself explicitly thinking about virality of your content, you have to ask yourself why exactly do you want to unleash a memetic weapon on people.
- vdaniuk 11y ago>No. It's mostly similar to HN IMO, it's just more inclusive I disagree, Reddit is an obviously addictive time sink, a claim supported by many self-reflecting posts and comments of Reddit users. >The content that is being created for Reddit You mean like the Upvoted.com viral, social media optimized buzzfeed-like media? The one launched after reddit's series B round led by Sam Altman.
- TeMPOraL 11y agoBuzzfeed-like media, yes. Upvoted.com is new; they don't seem to be optimized for addictiveness yet, but that could obviously change. > The one launched after reddit's series B round led by Sam Altman. I don't see how this is relevant.
- vdaniuk 11y ago>I don't see how this is relevant. That's the ironic part.
