Richard Dawkins: Did Ahmed intend to get arrested for his clock?
- mastermojo 11y agoThat kid is a little shit. Its not a bad thing, I was a little shit as a teenager too. Thank god the internet wasn't around to blow me way out of proportion.
- dreyfiz 11y agoPure garbage from the new king of blowhards. He's in way too deep, like Bill Maher, and he's now preaching only to his dwindling choir.
- dreyfiz 11y agoYes, Richard Dawkins, a 14-year-old boy intended to get arrested and deliberately provoked an overreaction by Texas racists, whose existence I'm sure he was totally aware of, because 14 year old boys are some wily motherfuckers. Richard Dawkins, once a luminary, now a delusional conspiracy theorist struggling to cling to the fringes of respectable society, drowning in his own diarrhea.

- mgalka 11y agoWon't disagree with you about Dawkins. But he has a point. Looking back at it, I feel sort of ashamed for jumping on the bandwagon so quickly. Really, other than possibly connecting a few wires, the kid didn't build a clock. He took a clock, and put it in a bomb-looking suitcase. It seems unlikely a kid would intentionally try to get in trouble for carrying a bomb. But it seems even more unlikely that he would put a clock in a bomb-looking suitcase and bring it to school as a science project.
- seivan 11y agoActually that would make his father the "little shit" as the kid in question has no clue what he's getting used for. But I see your point. Meh, another Jihadi cockroach that inexperienced naïve Americans can rally behind. Nothing changed. My biggest concern is how Europeans actually bought that hoax. I guess we still have some inexperienced people here as well. Oddly by now most should know about the lies pulled.
- dreyfiz 11y agoI see the Hacker News community is valiantly rising to the occasion again.
- seivan 11y agoOnly the experienced ones. Your echo-chamber will soon kick in to continue your Dawkins bashing, no worries.
- dreyfiz 11y agoAs a teenage Muslim atheist, Dawkins was my hero. As an adult, 20 years later, I am embarrassed for him and for you, his followers.
- seivan 11y agoHis followers? Please. I didn't even know of Dawkins until last year and he isn't even remotely close to as critical as he should be, not to mention too late. Lee Kuan Yew knew this shit before everyone, he will be missed :-( Oh and... as an ex-muslim growing up in Jihadi dominated areas I am embarrassed for you, for more the naive Americans who have no clue what fire they are playing with.
- dreyfiz 11y agoOh, so you're new, and you worship authoritarian dictators.
- cinitriqs 11y agoHe's been trolling his own twitter ever since last Friday again... Trying to find buyers for his books... Does he make sense sometimes? sure! Does he completely miss the ball on this one: well, you be the judge ;)
