What do you mean Signal is bound to Google? Also, iMessage is not "completely unverifiable". In fact, there has been much work put in to reverse engineering iMessage, and there is a program that can analyze what keys are used to encrypt. Granted, this is not easy and reverse engineering is not a preferable way to thoroughly investigate and verify an app's actions, but to call it "completely unverifiable" is just hyperbole.
