I disagree, in my experience as a OS engineering manager it is both cheaper and more effective to hire BSD people. There are a lot _more_ mediocre Linux people, probably even in smaller cities, but the really good ones are highly contested and you have a hard time getting them. Sweet spot is to go remote with BSD people.
