This finding has been known for 50 years and it is very general. Meehl's (1954, http://psycnet.apa.org/psycinfo/2006-21565-000 http://psycnet.apa.org/psycinfo/2006-21565-000) little black book on clinical vs. actuarial prediction sets the stage. The basic premise has been replicated many times. Simple algorithms and regression based prediction consistently outperform human judgement. Nothing new here...keep moving.
