Have you ever thought about that mixing religion and politics might be a reason for the mess in the islamic states?
- iamthepieman 11y agoYes absolutely. That plus a history of the area being a frequent host to proxy wars, a source of the worlds most demanded natural resource and the seat of three of the worlds most prominent religions.
- tobltobs 11y agoThat is not an answer to my question, isn't it? There are lots of islamic states where your description does not suit and they are still a mess. And being oil rich didn't pose a problem for norway.
- iamthepieman 11y agoWell technically the answer to your question is yes, I have thought about it. Which I did mention. Mixing politics and religion allows a faster decline into partisanship than even my country has seen. Religious leaders are often chosen for their devoutness and if they also have political clout like many Muslim clerics then it is a problem. I agree with you.
- anon4 11y agoYes. Some people have even put it very poignantly https://vimeo.com/50531435 https://vimeo.com/50531435
