As far as I remember from the original article the tree had been dead for two years. Not sure if the host knew that or not though.

- jacquesm 11y agoDead trees are called widowmakers for a reason and even cutting one down is an extremely risky operation.
- cowsandmilk 11y agouh... so? That just means it is even more the owner's responsibility to bring out someone to cut down the dead tree.
