A possible outcome of climate change is severe winters across all of Nothern Europe (severe as in Russian style -20). Without Russian supplies Europe's reserves and import terminals (Wales and Italy) would not be able to supply enough liquified natural gas to keep Europeans warm all winter. Anyway, the point is that climate change can cause international tension and that was the reasoning for it being part of the death clock.
