I used PS3 for this until I got a Roku. The lack of a fan in the Roku is a huge advantage. Also the PS3 game controllers are annoying due to limited battery life. There are other controllers, but they don't work as well (for example, missing the PS button to force exit an application). BTW, it helps to take the PS3 completely apart and clean out all the dust. The fan then doesn't run as fast.
