It lets users specify their config directory.
- jessaustin 11y agoBut since no one does that, the result is that everyone has half of their config files in $HOME, and the other half in $HOME/.config.
- ossreality 11y ago/shrug yeah because people like EditorConfig and Atom write new projects and literally opt to ignore the standard. It's just frustrating, annoying and a bit arrogant. "Oh just fucking throw it in their home dir. They won't mind. No one shows dot-prefixed files, right?!" Uh.
