Snowden was their source for this information, how is he not responsible for revealing this to the public? He wasn't telling the reporter this information in confidence. What he did do, is simply turn over non-redacted documents and let the media outlets redact at-will to find the newsworthy story. Regardless of the story that comes out, Snowden is the reason it is out there now, that makes him responsible for it.
- effie 11y agoSnowden is responsible for taking documents out, but it cannot be maintained he is solely responsible for publishing them. He made sure of that, for good reasons. There was little time for thorough review and checking of everything; he had to get rid of the documents to move on. Reporters he gave the documents were supposed and agreed to do that. It's them who are responsible for revealing the documents to public.
