ESR: FEMALE ADVOCACY ARE TRYING TO FRAME LINUS TORVALDS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
- setra 11y agoSo a reputable member of the open source community reports, an actual conspiracy against the founder of Linux. Why is this not a popular topic?
- judah 11y agoDue to political correctness, I suspect.
- snerbles 11y agoIt goes against the current narrative.
- braythwayt 11y ago1. For some value of "reputable," in 2015. 2. For some value of "reports," given the fact that this is a "he said that he said" story. 3. Given 1 and 2, can we really use a word like "actual?" As opposed to "alleged and uncorroborated?" Thus: 4. It could well become a popular topic once there is some confirmation beyond "Oh yes, I totally believe that could happen." Until then, many reasonable people might prefer to take an agnostic "wait-and-see" attitude. The conversation will surely be of higher value once this is either substantiated or debunked. This leads me to suggest that a charitable interpretation of flagging the story is not "This should not be discussed here," but rather, "This should not be discussed here yet."
- theworstshill 11y agoWhy is this getting flagged? This kind of information is essential to everyone in tech, men and women.
