My bet is that the emptiness you feel has little to do with a title, or how much you’re paid. I suspect that it has everything to do with meaning/purpose. Maybe you need to ditch the day job (regardless of consequence), move somewhere cheap, and make something you care about. Some of us aren’t meant to be employees.
