Ask HN: Decentralizing Uber?
Seems to me Uber is ripe for a decentralized solution. Why? Unlike Google or a SaaS provider, there is no data-bank or centralized algorithm that requires a lot of compute resources.
Why decentralize Uber?
- Contractors get 20% increase
- No single point of failure
- Consumers could pay less
- Automatic global scale
- Airports or any can not deny access
- Who drove who can be publicly accessible
- Technical feasibility is there via a block-chain solution
Is anyone working on a decentralized Uber solution out there?
- newsignup 11y agoIt could be difficult to implement that since the efficiency brought by uber's algorithm might be good in allocating drivers to demands. Since they also predict and direct drivers to locations. Without there being a research group who is ready to do that, it can be difficult to achieve. Though not impossible.
