Zookeeper Quorum Management

Adding and removing nodes from zookeeper cluster is very painful especially when you are going to replace the entire quorum with fresh set of new machines. You need to make sure that all the applications which are using zookeeper should have updated list of quorum machines. This means you need to keep the list of quorum machines somewhere else where all clients can query to get the updated list of quorum, maybe like consul. I would like to know how everyone manages it.
