- aerovistae 11y agothere is no discussion on that link, and amusingly it's submitted by the same person, who is apparently in it for the karma. even more amusingly it's submitted by the same person who earlier submitted a giant essay complaining about not getting credit for things
- minimaxir 11y ago1) Reposts are allowed on Hacker News provided there hasn't been significant discussion. Even more so if there has been a week since submission. 2) I was asked to repost this by the moderation team.
- aerovistae 11y agowonder why they asked that
- pervycreeper 11y agoWell, if you wanna go the literal route, one could consider "the empty discussion" to be a discussion if you're mathematically inclined :)
- dang 11y agoA post isn't a duplicate until the story has had significant attention. (See https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html) This is important, because otherwise far too many good stories fall through the cracks without having been noticed. I wrote about this here if anyone's interested: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9828818 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9828818. The repost invitations we've been sending out (including to minimaxir to repost this one!) are the latest in a series of experiments to find a solution to this problem.
