Yeah, but this is just the classic Diamond-Water Paradox in Economics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_value https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_value). Value isn't assigned based on essentiality, it's based on the intersection of supply and demand.
