This is the first time I've ever encountered the guy, but W.R.T. the second of those links: making a public statement denouncing a tool because a performance profile is O(N^2) and then, on being asked to prove it, admitting it's actually O(N logN) doesn't give me the greatest faith in the rigour with which he's considered the problem.
