That seems like an important consideration. Another I wonder about is whether it will just create a new baseline for poverty, causing either short-term or continual inflation. (Though I'm not opposed to basic income, just skeptical about the net benefit.) Another related issue is greater incentive to restrict immigration, deny benefits to criminals, etc, compared to a society where no one collects any benefits.
