Sramana Mitra's 2010 Resolution: Help 1M Entrepenreurs Achieve $1M/yr revenue
- skmurphy 17y agoTwo key grafs: Through the Entrepreneur Journeys project, I have come to conclude that the most vulnerable phase in an entrepreneur’s life is the pre $1 million revenue stage. This is where numerous ventures fail. Once the $1 million revenue milestone is crossed, entrepreneurs find it easier to find additional customers, manage working capital, and access funding, whether it is credit or equity. Thus, I have come to the conclusion that if I could help a million entrepreneurs globally reach $1 million in revenue (and beyond), that would be the foundation of a robust, distributed, and sustainable economic value creation that would add up to a trillion dollars in global GDP.
- enki 17y agogoal: selling a book for entrepreneurs, and asking for help (promotion) in reaching them? screams annoying-advertising-that-tries-to-mask-as-philantropy to me.
- skmurphy 17y agoShe gives away her time to critique entrepreneurs presentations (See http://www.sramanamitra.com/entrepreneurship-strategy-roundtables/ http://www.sramanamitra.com/entrepreneurship-strategy-roundt... ) in roundtables that are free to call in and available afterward on her site. She has written four books on bootstrapping and researched a number of success stories. They are as useful in their way as "Founders at Work" or "Four Steps to the Epiphany." I am not affiliated with her but admire both what she and Eric Ries are trying to do to provide practical guidance to entrepreneurs who are bootstrapping.
- skmurphy 17y agoI have volunteered to be an ambassador for the program (subsequent to my earlier comment) and as I get a closer look I am beginning to worry that your assessment is correct.
- theli0nheart 17y agoquite ambitious, especially because $10 quadrillion is about 185 times the total amount of money in circulation throughout the world (according to the World Bank). - skmurphy 17y agoa million (10^6) times a million (10^6) is a trillion (10^12) $1,000,000,000,000 (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Million http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Million ) $10 quadrillion is $10,000,000,000,000,000 (10^16) in the U.S. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_large_numbers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_large_numbers ) but in parts of the world 10 quadrillion would be 10^25 Because she is based in the US I assume she is using the American meaning of million and trillion.
