This way, the system also punishes everyone involved but not directly the defendant/accused. And it does so via the pocketbook.
- zo1 11y agoAnd if you exclude victimless crimes, it also punishes the victims. A bit of a stretch, but you could say so if no active and meaningful attempt is made to rehabilitate incarcerated individuals.
