I just have never seen this - the NRA arguing that full automatic weapons should not be licensed. Do you have a citation? I'd be genuinely interested to read up on it.
- hga 11y agoI'm not aware they argued that even in 1934, when they were focused on removing handguns from the NFA's licencing and prohibitive tax, $3,500 in 2015 dollars (and that in a period where the Depression had gotten truly Great).
- 15155 11y agoI am amazed that this hasn't been successfully challenged via the "poll tax" argument.
