  A quick google search makes it sound more like all herbal medicines are now more strictly regulated but not banned.

  It's still available for sale from the biggest herbal supplement retailer in the UK [1]. That fact alone makes this claim seem unlikely. Are you mainly referring to it being a CYP3A4 inhibitor?
