I've been running the same 13" MBP for five years. Dual-core processor has been fine for me doing programming, photo editing in Adobe Lightroom, and music production with Avid Pro Tools. I had a 15" Powerbook before that. I went with 13" to make it more portable, and have been happy with that decision. But I also kind of miss the larger screen. I hook it up to a 27" display at home though, so no big deal. For your intended purposes, I think you'd be fine either way. Pick your favorite size. :-)
